EMPOWERING ME: MINDFULLY ME

Saturday, October 6, 1 to 2 PM

Kellie Cathey, LSW, will help children from ages 7 to 9 build life skills they need to thrive in a series of Empowering Me workshops. No registration required.

Bringing mindfulness to our everyday lives helps us become more aware of what's happening around us, react less quickly and bring a deeper understanding of life in the mundane of everyday. For kids, mindfulness can be used to help them regulate emotion, become less reactive and find calmness in the storm of being a kid.

In this session, children will learn how to practice mindfulness to increase regulation, focus, and attention; how to use breath to find balance; to become aware of their actions before they react; and how to practice forgiveness and flexibility with others.

PARENT WORKSHOP: BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND HEALTHY SELF-ESTEEM IN CHILDREN

Tuesday, October 9, 7:30 PM

Good self-esteem helps us to create the life we want, weather life's challenges with resilience, have good relationships, and enjoy happiness and success in career and personal life. But what can we do as parents to ensure our children have the best possible chance of gaining confidence and good self-esteem during their first 18 years? In this class, you will discover how you can play an integral role in helping your children become successful, emotionally healthy adults.

Presented by Adrienne Bishop, a life coach for parents. No registration required.
